TOANO, Va. (AP) — Health officials are trying to locate three people who were exposed to a rabid raccoon in James City County.

Lois Gary of the Peninsula Health District says the people found the raccoon along a road near Toano on Sunday and took it to a fire station. The raccoon later died and tests revealed it was rabid.

Media outlets report health officials are now seeking the public's help to find the three people.
