PHOENIX (AP) — A woman charged in the stabbing and shooting death of her lover is set to continue testifying at her Phoenix murder trial.

Jodi Arias is testifying in a case peppered with lurid stories of sex, lies, betrayal and violence.

The 32-year-old could face the death penalty if convicted.

She is set to testify Wednesday after telling jurors how she first met the victim and how the two almost instantly became sexually involved.

She says Travis Alexander offered her hope for a fresh start, personally and professionally.

Arias has said she killed Alexander in self-defense in June 2008 at his suburban Phoenix home.

Prosecutors say she stabbed and slashed him nearly 30 times, slit his throat and shot him in the head in a fit of jealous rage.
