Small western Ohio town chosen for music festival

TROY, Ohio (AP) — Officials in Troy are celebrating the selection of the western Ohio community as a site for one of three small-town music festivals staged in the U.S. by the popular British band Mumford & Sons.

The expected crowd could double the population in the city of 25,000 when it hosts one of the band's Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers on Aug. 30-31. Mumford & Sons will headline the Saturday show.

Other U.S. sites for the shows — intended to combine the intimacy of a small community festival with the buzz of a world-class music festival — are St. Augustine, Fla., and Guthrie, Okla.

Troy's tourism officials liken being chosen for the festival to winning the lottery.

Tickets are $109 and go on sale at 11 a.m. Friday at www.gentlemenoftheroad.com.
