GEORGETOWN, Texas (AP) — A Texas man who was wrongfully imprisoned for nearly 25 years in his wife's murder says he and his legal team were never informed that investigators knew his then-3-year-old son said he saw someone else beat the woman to death.

Michael Morton was released in 2011 after DNA testing showed he didn't kill his wife. A court of inquiry is examining if Judge Ken Anderson acted improperly in 1987 when he was a district attorney prosecuting Morton.

Anderson is accused of hiding evidence. He denies any wrongdoing.

Morton testified Monday he hadn't known his son witnessed the slaying. The boy blamed the killing on a "monster."

Morton says someone must be held accountable for his years in prison. The court of inquiry could last a week.
