Hunters in Ohio kill fewer deer this season

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio hunters bagged 218,910 deer during the 2012-13 hunting season using all types of weapons, more than 800 less deer than the year before.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources tells The Columbus Dispatch (bit.ly/XSL7La) that more than 500,000 hunters participated in the hunt, which lasted from Sept. 29 through Sunday, when archery season ended.

In 2011-12, hunters took 219,748 deer, or 838 more than during the most recent season.
