COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio Gov. John Kasich (KAY'-sik) is expected to discuss his policy plans for the coming year at a legislative preview session for journalists organized by The Associated Press.

Statewide elected officials and legislative leaders of both political parties also planned to share their thoughts on the year ahead at Thursday's forum. The state's auditor, attorney general, treasurer and secretary of state were scheduled to attend.

Kasich is expected to release details of his two-year budget proposal on Monday. Debate on the spending blueprint and the school-funding plan he's unveiling Thursday is expected to consume much of the first part of the year for state lawmakers.

Kasich recently returned from Davos, Switzerland. The Republican was among political, business and other leaders from around the globe participating in the World Economic Forum.
