GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Tuberculosis tests administered to students and staff at a Grand Forks school show that one person was exposed to the disease, but it doesn't mean the individual is infectious with TB.
One student at Winship Elementary School was diagnosed last week with the illness, following a recent outbreak in the city. Results released Wednesday showed that 22 of 23 tests conducted Monday at the school were normal.
Officials say one person had an abnormal result, but does not exhibit symptoms of active tuberculosis and has been referred to a doctor for further testing.
Health officials have linked the outbreak to homeless visitors who exposed a family who gave them shelter.
