Woman hurt when train and car collide in Ohio

AMHERST TOWNSHIP, Ohio (AP) — A 78-year-old woman has suffered non-life threatening injuries after her car was struck by a train at a Norfolk Southern railroad crossing.

Miriam A. Matesic of Lorain was driving over the tracks at about 4:05 p.m. Sunday when her car was hit. She was taken to a local hospital and then airlifted to MetroHealth hospital in Cleveland.

The accident is being investigated.
