WAYNESBORO, Va. (AP) — The Wildlife Center of Virginia has euthanized a peregrine falcon that had been part of an education program.
Veterinarians decided to euthanize the falcon Thursday due to an inflammatory foot condition that had required three previous surgeries. The Virginian-Pilot (http://bit.ly/10PPXQl) reports the condition in the falcon's left foot had become significantly worse.
The falcon was found with a broken wing in Chesapeake in 2010 and couldn't fly well enough to be released. Since then it appeared in 113 education programs.
