Former Ohio court justice joins auditor's office

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A former Ohio Supreme Court justice ousted in November's election is joining the state auditor's office as general counsel.

Robert Cupp, defeated by William O'Neill last fall, previously served on the Ohio Court of Appeals and in the state senate.

State Auditor David Yost says Cupp's decision is a bonus for the people of Ohio and a logical extension of what he calls Cupp's stellar public service.

Cupp, a Republican elected to the Supreme Court in 2006, is also a former Allen County commissioner, Lima city prosecutor and Lima assistant law director.
