Lexington expands hours for flu shots

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — As the number of confirmed flu cases in Lexington rises, the health department is expanding its hours for giving flu shots.

WKYT reports (http://bit.ly/YkM9Wx ) the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department will be offering flu shots from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST Wednesday and Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. No appointment is necessary and shots cost $25.

Next week, the health department will return to its regular schedule of offering flu shots from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays only.

There are 57 confirmed cases of flu in Lexington so far this year.
