BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) — Leaders at Bowling Green State University say the school will cut 100 faculty jobs by next fall.

The jobs lost amount to one out of every 10 faculty positions at the university in northwest Ohio.

Jobs will be eliminated at both the school's main campus in Bowling Green and its Firelands campus in Huron.

The Blade newspaper in Toledo reports that the positions will be eliminated through attrition, retirements, and dropping some one-year teaching contracts.

A Bowling Green spokesman says the school will save about $5 million.

The school did not say where the cuts will be made.
