AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Universities in Ohio saw enrollment drop last fall and are likely to see the decline continue.
The Akron Beacon Journal says (http://bit.ly/Wgvles ) that education studies are predicting that the number of public high school graduates in Ohio will continue to drop over the next decade.
The head of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Ohio says the question is how much that decline will be in the coming years.
Ohio's public colleges and universities posted an enrollment drop of 6 percent last fall.
Colleges already are changing how they recruit students and thinking about how to attract more people.
The University of Akron says it is working with northeast Ohio schools to improve the number of college-ready students.
