COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Female students, faculty and visitors to the University of South Carolina's School of Medicine are going to have access to a new nursing mother's lounge.

The school says USC first lady Patricia Pastides and School of Medicine Dean Richard Hoppmann are celebrating the grand opening on Thursday. The celebration is set for the second floor of the school's library at its Garner's Ferry Road location in Columbia.

The lounge is paid for in part by the Richland Community Health Partners and the Healthy South Carolina Initiative.
