ST. LOUIS (AP) — Police say a part-time student walked into a business school in downtown St. Louis and shot an administrator in the chest before shooting himself.

Police Chief Sam Dotson said the shooting happened about 2 p.m. Tuesday. The administrator was a man in his 40s who was shot in his office.

Dotson says the administrator and the gunman underwent surgery Tuesday afternoon. While Dotson was optimistic both men would survive, police and hospital officials declined to provide updates on their conditions late Tuesday.

Dotson says no one else was injured.

The shooting happened at the Stevens Institute of Business and Arts, which has about 250 students in programs including business administration and interior design.
