LAKEWOOD, Ohio (AP) — A Cleveland Clinic nurse faces trial next month on a charge that allegedly emerged from an emergency room question to a patient: "Ever killed anyone?"

Prosecutors say the patient tipped off police that 23-year-old emergency room nurse Andrew Martin was plotting to kill a woman he was in home-ownership dispute with. The woman was not hurt.

Martin has pleaded not guilty and goes on trial next month in federal court in Cleveland.

Defense attorney Edward LaRue says "there's much more to come." He says an image of a productive young man will emerge at the trial.

A federal affidavit says Martin hatched the plot in frustration that the house owner's surviving sister was fighting an alleged house-theft scam in suburban Lakewood.
