COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio regulators have fined Cleveland's casino $15,000 for using unapproved software.
The Ohio Casino Control Commission approved the fine Wednesday for the violation, which was self-reported by the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland.
The casino, which opened last May as Ohio's first, used the unapproved software for almost four months. The software, which tracks gambler incentive program points, has since been approved by the commission.
Commission deputy director John Barron says the state did not lose any money because of the unapproved software and there is no indication that gamblers were short-changed.
The Columbus Dispatch reports (bit.ly/10zNquv) the casino agreed to remedial measures to prevent a similar occurrence.
The casino said in a statement it takes rules compliance seriously and accepts responsibility for the error.
