Southeastern Apple Growers meeting in Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Apple growers from across the Southeast can get to the core of their craft when they gather in Asheville for a two-day meeting.

The Southeastern Apple Growers Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday in Asheville. The meeting continues on Wednesday.

The opening day features discussions on marketing, food safety, regulatory issues and orchard equipment. Speakers include David Robishaw of the Virginia Department of Agriculture, who will share tips and advice on marketing apples.

Growers will also hear about orchard management and production topics such as thinning, and weed and insect management.
