PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A prime piece of real estate near Narragansett Bay in Providence that has housed the Tockwotton Home nursing home facility will soon stand empty.

Monday is the final moving day for staff and administration of the nursing home. It's relocating to a 156-room assisted living and nursing care residence in East Providence called Tockwotton on the Waterfront.

Residents were being moved over the weekend.

The new five-story, 138,000-square-foot building near Bold Point Park and the East Providence Yacht Club cost $52.3 million. Officials hope it will be the anchor for development of the city's Waterfront District.

Tockwotton had called the facility on East Street in Providence home for 157 years. The building is up for sale.
