LONDON (AP) — Britain's tallest building, the 2012 Olympic cauldron and a non-stick ketchup bottle are among contenders for a major design award.
London's Design Museum Monday announced nominees for the Designs of the Year prizes in seven categories including architecture, fashion, transport and digital media.
Architecture candidates include The Shard, a 1,000-foot (310-meter) tall London office building designed by Renzo Piano.
Digital contenders include the inexpensive Raspberry Pi computer and "Zombies, Run!" — a zombie-apocalypse-themed exercise app.
Among the finalists for best new product are Thomas Heatherwick's copper-petal Olympic cauldron, the Replicator 2 3-D printer and a ketchup bottle designed by MIT scientists that uses an edible lubricant to stop contents from sticking.
An exhibition of the finalists goes on display at the museum in March. Winners will be announced in April.
