ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — The country's largest organic peanut butter processor linked to a national salmonella outbreak has hired back some of its employees.

KRQE-TV reports (http://bit.ly/13m8eEk) that Sunland Inc. in Portales hired back the employees after getting approval from the Food and Drug Administration to allow its processing plant to get back up and running.

Sunland Inc. spokeswoman Katalin Coburn says the company decided to rehire the employees since the company got the acknowledgement and the blessing of the FDA and sanitation experts. She says the company hopes to be back in operation by March.

The company's peanut processing and peanut butter plant has been shuttered since the recall in September.

Sunland recalled more than 100 nut and nut butter products after the outbreak.
