ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The flu-related death of a 14-year-old St. Louis Park girl is the second such death involving an otherwise healthy teen in the last 10 days in Minnesota.

The Minnesota Department of Health confirmed the state's fifth flu-related death. The teen's high school and church posted messages about the young victim.

St. Louis Park Senior High says counselors and social workers are available to help students deal with the death of Carly Christenson, a ninth-grade student.

Westwood Lutheran Church posted a message on its Facebook site which said Carly passed away Tuesday surrounded by her parents, brother, grandparents and a few close friends. The teen was admitted to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis on Christmas Eve.

On Dec. 30, 17-year-old Max Schwolert died of flu complications at a St. Paul hospital.
