PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio hospital is reporting the death of a newborn baby delivered last week at the scene of a traffic crash that killed the mother.

The girl was delivered by EMS workers Thursday afternoon at a crash site in Perrysburg Township south of Toledo and airlifted to a hospital. WTOL-TV (http://bit.ly/UCh7oc) reports that hospital said the baby died at around 2 a.m. Sunday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said 24-year-old Dustin Kominek lost control of his car on a snow-covered road while making a turn and was hit by another car.

His wife, 26-year-old Rachel Kominek, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was nine months pregnant.

Dustin Kominek was treated at a hospital and released. The occupants of the other car were not seriously injured.
