CINCINNATI (AP) — Authorities say a man died after crashing his car while fleeing a sheriff's deputy attempting to stop him for an alleged violation of Ohio's vehicle-window tint law.

The Hamilton County sheriff's office says 32-year-old Aaron Williams of Cincinnati was pronounced dead at a suburban Cincinnati hospital shortly after the crash on Monday morning.

A sheriff's release says the deputy signaled the driver to stop after noting the darkly tinted windows. Violating Ohio law's that prohibits car windows from being tinted too darkly is a misdemeanor.

Authorities say the driver sped off, losing control of his car and hitting a fence and a tree after chase that lasted about a minute. No one else was injured.

Authorities say they found about 10½ ounces of marijuana in the car.
