MIAMI (AP) — Venezuelans in the United States are closely watching the health of President Hugo Chavez and weighing what it means for the future of their families and their homeland.

Chavez's condition remains delicate after suffering complications following cancer surgery last month. In the Venezuelan hub of South Florida, immigrants are following the news online, by television and through relatives still in the country.

Many of them say they will not immediately head back to their homeland if Chavez dies because they realize change will not be imminent. But they are optimistic the country can recover from some of the turmoil it has suffered.
