CANTON, Ohio (AP) — Police in northeast Ohio say two holdup men tried to rob a meat market, fired off several rounds and then both were shot several times by a store employee.

Both wounded suspects fled the Canton market Wednesday and went to different hospitals where they were arrested and held under police guard.

No one at the market was hurt.

The suspects, ages 17 and 19, had been wanted on earlier warrants for burglary and robbery.

The (Canton) Repository (bit.ly/ZfQrhR) says the shop owner and an employee overpowered a masked gunman last April. The man was sentenced to four years in prison for robbing the market and a neighboring store.
