COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — There were at least 1,056 traffic deaths in Ohio in 2012, according to preliminary figures. The number over the previous decade:

— 2009: 1,022
— 2008: 1,191
— 2007: 1,257
— 2006: 1,239
— 2005: 1,328
— 2004: 1,285
— 2003: 1,278
— 2002: 1,417
