Northeast Ohio airport sets passenger record

AKRON, Ohio (AP) — A record number of passengers flew in and out of the Akron-Canton Airport in 2012.

The airport actually topped the record in November before the busy holiday travel season.

Close to 1.7 million passengers went through the Akron-Canton Airport in the first 11 months of the year.

Airport officials tell the Akron Beacon Journal (http://bit.ly/ZDY7vw ) that the arrival of Southwest in August helped with the increase along with low fares and the airport's small size.
