Colombian leader treated for infection

BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — Colombia's government says President Juan Manuel Santos is receiving treatment for a urinary tract infection.

The president's office announced doctors diagnosed the infection during a medical checkup, among several medical evaluations following a successful prostate cancer-related surgery in October.

Felipe Gomez, lead surgeon on the prostate operation, says the president's urinary tract infection is not serious.

The infection is being treated with antibiotics.

Following Friday's evaluation, Santos announced through the Twitter social networking site he was returning to his normal routine.
