Missing Ohio girl found safe in foster care

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Police say a 15-year-old Columbus girl who'd been missing for three weeks has been found and is safe.

The Columbus Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/WzTKfg ) that Chantasja Silva had been living in foster care. Police say she was placed there after being picked up for shoplifting during her disappearance. They say she had given them a false name.

Chantasja's foster mother saw her photograph on a TV news program Sunday and called police. Earlier in the day, police had distributed Chantasja's photograph to the news media and sought their help in finding the girl.

Police say Chantasja was seen on a surveillance camera at West High School on Dec. 3, the day she disappeared, but they had no clues to her whereabouts. She was listed as an endangered runaway.
