2 perish in northeast Ohio house fire

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say two people died in an overnight house fire in Shaker Heights, east of Cleveland.

Assistant Fire Chief Wayne Johnson tells reporters that five other residents were rescued and taken to a hospital after the two-story home went up in flames.

Officials said the fire broke out about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, and multiple crews responded to fight it. The fire was contained to the one house. The cause hasn't been determined.

Victims' names haven't been released.
