GEORGETOWN, Ohio (AP) — A 71-year-old southwestern Ohio man has been charged with killing his adult son.
Leroy Louderback of Georgetown, about 40 miles east of Cincinnati, was arrested Sunday and charged with a felony count of voluntary manslaughter.
The Brown County Sheriff's Office says the elder Louderback called 911 on Sunday afternoon to report he had shot his son in the chest. Paramedics who responded found 41-year-old John Louderback dead when they arrived.
It wasn't immediately clear what spurred the shooting. Voluntary manslaughter is a crime committed in the heat of passion, rather than being premeditated.
A judge set bond at $50,000 on Monday. Louderback was released after posting bond shortly afterward.
A message left at Leroy Louderback's home was not immediately returned Monday.
