BOSTON (AP) — With a once-a-century date coming, some people are betting on good luck on 12-12-12.

Numerologist and author Vikki MacKinnon says the date represents two energies merging, making it a beautiful day for weddings.

She says that's good news for the couples who are planning to say their "I do's" on Wednesday.

Some casinos have planned promotions, including special wedding packages, to draw in customers who want to test their luck.

In Pittsburgh, an assistant U.S. attorney plans to wed a U.S. deputy marshal at 12:12 p.m. in the federal courthouse downtown.

And in Battle Creek, Mich., Anna Gandy will celebrate her 12th birthday on 12-12-12 by going to the mall to get her ears pierced.
