EDMORE, Mich. (AP) — Classes are canceled this week in a mid-Michigan school district following an influenza outbreak.

The Daily News of Greenville and The Morning Sun of Mount Pleasant report that staff and students at Montabella Community Schools began coming down with the flu on Friday. More than two dozen students were sent home that day before the end of classes.

Some school concerts have been canceled this week, as well as a boys' basketball game Tuesday. A Friday girls' game might be played.

The district is located about 55 miles northwest of Lansing.
