CINCINNATI (AP) — University of Cincinnati students got warnings to stay inside after two weekend incidents in which shots were fired near the main campus.
No injuries were reported. Campus police received a report of gunshots near a dormitory early Sunday, and a voice alert message to "shelter in place" was activated. Less than an hour later, gunshots were reported near University Park Apartments. Students there got a text alert.
Meanwhile, a student was robbed at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. Police say three males took his wallet, keys and cellphone. The student wasn't hurt.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports (http://cin.ci/XJge1g ) that the incidents come as some students have become increasingly concerned about crime on and around the campus.
