CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Former U.S. Sen. Alan Simpson is dancing "Gangnam Style" to urge younger Americans to fix the national debt using their social media skills.

The 81-year-old co-chairman of President Barack Obama's deficit commission gallops and lassoes the air in the online video for The Can Kicks Back campaign, pulling off the dance move made popular in a music video that has been viewed nearly a billion times on YouTube.

He says young people should use social media to do more than post pictures of their breakfast, tweet about their First World problems or watch South Korean rap sensation PSY (sigh) perform "Gangnam Style." He says the technology could be used to solve the nation's financial problems.

Coming from the Cowboy State, Simpson told the Casper Star-Tribune (http://bit.ly/QJZCmQ) the dance wasn't hard to learn.
