EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (AP) — Police say a man who was shot in the head walked into an eastern Ohio hospital emergency room on his own.
WTOV-TV (http://bit.ly/TEUxMg ) reports that 29-year-old Douglas Austin of Columbus was coherent and able to communicate with doctors after walking into the East Liverpool City Hospital Monday morning.
Austin told officers the shooting was an accident and that he could not remember where it happened. Police say they have a person of interest after searching a home and collecting evidence.
Austin was taken by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital, where there was no update on his condition.
