DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — A southwest Ohio trial for an adoptive father charged with raping boys in his care has been postponed amid plea negotiations.
A Montgomery County court official says next week's trial date has been vacated, and a Dec. 20 hearing is set on whether a final agreement has been reached. No other details were made public.
The 40-year-old Troy man last month pleaded guilty to six rape counts in nearby Miami County, with 25 charges dropped with his agreement to cooperate with authorities.
In Montgomery County, he is charged with three counts of rape of a child under 13 and four counts of complicity to rape of a child under 13.
The Associated Press isn't naming the adoptive father to protect the children's identities. The three boys involved were ages 9-12.
