CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say they have captured a man who's been accused of causing fatal brain injuries to his girlfriend's 10-month-old baby in central Ohio.

The Pickaway County Sheriff's Office said 44-year-old Wayne Martin Walker was arrested by U.S. marshals Sunday as he stepped off a Greyhound bus in Sacramento, Calif.

Deputies say Walker lived with the baby's 24-year-old mother in Laurelville, south of Columbus. She called 911 early Wednesday to report that her infant son was unresponsive.

The child suffered injuries consistent with shaken-baby syndrome. He died at a Columbus hospital Thursday.

Walker is being held under a $1 million bond and will be brought back to Ohio to face a murder charge. Information about legal representation wasn't available Monday.
