CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Chattanooga's new bicycle transit system is celebrating a milestone — over 1,000,000 calories burned.

Bike Chattanooga members pay an annual fee and receive a key to unlock and use any of 300 bicycles found at 30 downtown stations. People can also purchase a 24-hour pass to use the bikes.

According to a news release from Bike Chattanooga, people have taken over 10,000 trips on the bikes since the program started in late July.

Member Buddy Killebrew, a local attorney, is the system's most prolific user with over 150 trips. Killebrew says he uses the bikes to commute to work and also to go out to dinner with his wife on weekends.
