HAMILTON, Mont. (AP) — A 59-year-old Florence man has pleaded guilty to trapping violations after a dog was injured when it was caught in a trap at a fishing access site.

KECI-TV reports (http://bit.ly/V066dD ) Juan Lopez was fined $535, must pay restitution and has lost his trapping privileges for three years. He also must take a trapping education class before his privileges can be reinstated.

Fish Wildlife and Parks wardens cited Lopez after a Labrador retriever got caught in an illegally placed mink trap.

The dog did not suffer any broken bones, but had to wear a sprint after the Nov. 19 injury.
