COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A 20-year-old central Ohio man is seeking early release after being imprisoned for a fatal traffic crash that occurred after he concealed a stop sign with petroleum jelly and plastic wrap.

Seth Stonerock of Stoutsville has served less than a year of his four-year sentence after pleading guilty to two counts of reckless homicide.

The Columbus Dispatch (http://bit.ly/T0bgHd ) reports the prosecutor doesn't object to the first-time offender being released on probation.

A defense attorney says Stonerock has job offers waiting and he's very remorseful.

An 85-year-old woman died in the August 2011 crash when her sister drove past the concealed sign and collided with another vehicle. The 81-year-old sister died about three weeks later.

A relative said their family wasn't notified of Stonerock's filing seeking early release.
