ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A coalition of groups is set to release a five-year plan for battling cancer that it hopes will be included in state budgeting.
Members of the New York State Cancer Consortium will be in Albany Tuesday to release the plan, which the organization says was created with ideas for reducing cancer rates from hundreds of groups and individuals.
Representatives of the American Cancer Society, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of NYS, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network and The Sage Colleges will present the plan.
They'll ask Gov. Andrew Cuomo to back their ideas when he builds his proposed 2013-2014 budget.
