LAKEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Authorities in Lakewood, Colo., say a police officer has been shot and killed by a gunman.
Lakewood police spokesman Steve Davis said the shooting occurred after police responded to a report early Friday of shots being fired in a residential area.
Davis says three people have been arrested and are being questioned. He said the officer was already in the area investigating a prowler report when the shooting occurred.
