BEIJING (AP) — China's export growth accelerated in October in a positive sign for a possible economic recovery, while import growth stayed weak.
Data reported Saturday showed exports rose 11.6 percent from a year ago, up from the previous month's 9.9 percent. The import growth rate held steady at 2.4 percent.
The rise in export growth adds to signs that a rebound from China's deepest economic slump since the 2008 crisis is taking shape. Data reported earlier showed auto sales, factory output and investment also improved in October.
