CLEVELAND (AP) — Cleveland State University plans to go tobacco-free by next September.
The draft policy was approved Wednesday by university trustees. It will cover tobacco and smokeless tobacco and extend across campus, including parking lots, walkways and university vehicles.
The Plain Dealer in Cleveland (http://bit.ly/QoGwDp ) reports that a final policy on enforcing the ban will be developed by a task force of faculty, staff and students.
School officials estimate about 4,400 students and about 300 faculty and staff smoke.
The Ohio Board of Regents voted in July to urge the state's public campuses to ban all sales and use of tobacco products.
