Ohio trial judge OKs mental exam in boy's slaying

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) — A judge in northeast Ohio has ordered a mental exam for a murder suspect in the death an 8-year-old boy shot in his bunk bed with a round fired from outside.

The judge ordered the test Wednesday for 21-year-old Shawn Wilson of Youngstown in the death of Bryce Linebaugh in August.

Police say the suspect argued with a man and threatened to return and shoot up a house.

The suspect is being held on $5 million bond and could face the death penalty if convicted of aggravated murder. He has pleaded not guilty.

According to The (Youngstown) Vindicator (bit.ly/PZoHLf), the trial is scheduled for Jan. 14.
