NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Two-time Olympic gold medalist snowboarder Shaun White has agreed to seek alcohol treatment to settle public intoxication and vandalism charges.

Susan Niland, the Nashville District Attorney's spokeswoman, said White entered a plea Wednesday will include dismissal of the charges if he undergoes treatment, performs 24 hours of community and pays restitution to a Nashville hotel. Police say he drunkenly destroyed a telephone at the hotel.

White's lawyer didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Police said White was a hotel guest when he pulled a fire alarm at about 2 a.m. on Sept. 16, forcing all guests to evacuate.

According to police, White tried to flee but ended up in the hospital after he hit his head while trying to fight another guest.
