CINCINNATI (AP) — Police say the death of an 86-year-old southern Ohio great-grandmother found in the trunk of her car is a homicide.
Monroe police released few details about Barbara Howe's death other than to say Friday that it was being investigated as a homicide and that it was the 29-officer department's highest priority.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports (http://cin.ci/R1zly2) that it's the city's first homicide in more than two years.
Howe's body was found in the trunk of her car Thursday at an apartment complex in Middletown, about one mile from her house.
A Middletown officer found the car after noticing that it fit the description of the car Monroe police had detailed in a missing persons bulletin about Howe.
Howe had five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
