MIDDLE EAST MEDICAL MARIJUANA (SAT) - The Holy Land is at the forefront of research into growing and administering medical cannabis. The industry has shot up over the past seven years, with more than then thousand patients now permitted to consume the drug.

HAT COLLECTION INSPIRED BY RUSSIAN MYTHS (SAT) - Flamboyant headwear is the talk of Moscow as designer, Konstantin Gayday presents his latest creations. He's put together a collection of elaborate hats based on Russian fairy tales.

KENYA US ELECTION (SAT) - Kenyan villagers mark the U.S. presidential elections with a bullfight, with one bull representing Barack Obama, and the other Mitt Romney.

BRAZIL POLE DANCING (SAT) - Fifty-six contestants take part in the second annual world pole-dancing competition.

SPANISH EXHIBITION CELEBRATES THE WEIRD (SAT) - Grotesque: it's a relatively new art form, but finding beauty in the fantastical and ugly is being celebrated in an exhibition in Madrid. Art works from all over Europe and America have been gathered together for The Grotesque Factor exhibition.

DRIFTING MOTOR SPORT TAKES OFF IN AUSTRALIA (SAT) - It's the art of over-steering your vehicle and losing traction while maintaining complete control. Originally developed in Japan, 'drifting' has become a popular motor sport in Australia, and rivalry between states and territories is heating up.

LARGE METEORITE DISCOVERED IN POLAND (SUN) - An extra-terrestrial has been found in Poland. However, communicating with this ancient relic from outer space is like getting blood out of a stone. Because that is essentially what it is.

ADDRESSES AT LAST FOR THE STREETS WITH NO NAME IN EAST JERUSALEM (SUN) - No address, no pizza! Of course, the notion of identity runs deeper than the simple desire for fast food, particularly in East Jerusalem. But there is a light at the end of these streets with no name, as the poorer half of the city gets proper addresses at last.

RETRO CHIRSTMAS TRENDS IN THE UK (SUN) - In the year that the UK hosted the 2012 Olympic games and celebrated Queen Elizabeth II's diamond jubilee, it's no surprise that a sense of 'Britishness' is one of the key trends dominating this season's Christmas designs. Rustic and nostalgic decorations are in abundance at London's Spirit of Christmas Fair.
